Optional Practical Training (OPT) is a 12-month period of employment eligibility available to all international students upon completion of their degree, and also to Ph.D. candidates who have finished all course requirements, but continue to work on their dissertation.
OPT can take up to three months to be approved by USCIS. Your OPT must be approved before you begin working.
At this workshop you will learn about immigration status issues specific to OPT and also how to apply for OPT.
Please call the Office of International Services (412.624.7120) with any questions.
